Dublin 3.23 – Wexford 0.09

Dublin pulverized a flagging Wexford team in a second half that saw the Strawberry Pickers outscored by 3.13 to 0.02. In doing so, Dublin claimed a magnificent four-in-a-row of provincial titles that now sees them entering August, and knockout football, looking for that elusive All Ireland final appearance.

The last Dublin team to achieve four Delaney Cups on the bounce was the precocious team of the early/mid 1990's who won from 1992 through to 1995. Anyone looking for omens of good fortune will point to the fact that it took until their fourth year of Leinster success before the big prize was finally delivered. The three previous summers had seen provincial dominance followed by stomach-wrenching losses in the final, semi final and once again in the final of 1994.

Leinster SFC Semi Final -

Dublin 0.13 – Westm**th 1.08

Gaelic football's fortune tellers and tea-leaf readers all foretold that the 2008 Leinster semi final would be a rigorous examination of Dublin's faculties. The consensus was that the blue machine would eventually have too rich a fuel for the Westm**th men to compete with in the final dash towards the line. History may indeed show that the script was adhered to. But the cold statistic of the scoreboard does not tell the full story...
