The Super 12’s are almost upon us. Here are the results in the provincial finals

Ulster Senior Final - Donegal 9-21 Armagh 4-8

3 goals both Geraldine McLaughlin and Yvonne Bonner

Munster Senior Final - Cork 5-13 Kerry 2-10

2-2 from soccer star Saoirse Noonan on senior debut. Captain Ciara O’Sullivan involved in all 5 goals. Scoring 2 winning 2 penalties and setting up the other one.

Connacht Senior Final - Galway 0-17 Mayo 1-12

Back-to-back Connact titles for Galway. Rachel Kearns back playing half-back. Galway one of the teams that can give Dublin the most problems.

Leinster Senior Final - Dublin 5-11 v Westmeath 2-8

Off the back of a terrific 2-1 from Niamh McEvoy Dublin ran out out comfortable winners against Westmeath by 12 points with green flags also from Noelle Healy, Lyndsey Davey, and an excellent team goal finished by captain Sinead Aherne.

Yep just saw it! Absolute mess. I already thought Cavan could beat Mayo before this but now it looks very likely. Cora Staunton who played in the middle according to reports against Galway. Fiona McHale in midfield and Captain full back Sarah Tierney all leaving the squad.

#6

On the basis that you have seen Cavan play when?

#8

You’d think the Mayo board would have a few bob to throw at the ladies with the lads gone earlier than normal?

#9

Different board ? Similar to Dublin ? Not 100% on that . Maybe our new expert will know …

#10

Well for starters they played Tipp in the Division 2 league final and could of won if not for a dubious penalty decision.

#11

So they failed to beat a team fresh out of inter and didn’t make an Ulster final and jimmy the Greek has them backed !

#12

A very good team that could of easily been in senior 2 years ago. They just couldn’t quite get over the line. Tipperary have a lot more offensive ability than Kildare. It makes the game on Sunday between Cavan and Mayo more interesting with all this player drama though.

Here is who I think will come out of each of the groups with the 2 teams predicted in bold

Group 1
Donegal
Kerry
Tipperary

Group 2
Cork
Armagh
Monaghan

Group 3 - Tricky group to call
Galway
Westmeath
Waterford

Group 4
Dublin
Mayo
Cavan

Could of alright …

Cavan would have had no hope vs Mayo prior to this currant mess. Now Cavan could well win purely down to fact of players Mayo Wont have. This doesn’t do much for Dublin as they would have expected a challenge from Mayo but now it seems they may walk into an All Ireland Semi Final/Final

#15

As is the case with all county Board men’s and ladies boards are completely separate so Mayo men being out would have no bearing on funds available to the Ladies Team.

#16

Don’t know the full list of players who have walked out but it seems the leadership is completely gone. Are Aileen Gilroy or Grace Kelly or Niamh Kelly really going to captain the side. I don’t know. Why dd this not happen before the Connacht Final. I guess we’ll find out these questions in the coming weeks.
Commiserations on the Dublin minors loss to Cork. Cork seem to be producing another serious outfit.

#17

Having seen the Mayo team picked for Saturday vs Cavan I would still fancy Mayo to get a result. Still a potent enough forward line that Cavan may struggle to cope with. Defensively and around midfield they appear weak on paper but Cavan possibly wont have enough to expose this.
