Dublin Senior Ladies Football 2018

*woman advantage :joy:

Apparently Orla O’Dwyer who is a dual player played camogie yesterday and scored 3 points as Tipp beat Limerick to reach the Munster Senior Camogie Final.

Shocking officiating there at the end. Feel sorry for Cavan.

They shoudn’t of kicked somany wides.

Thought she barged to be honest.

Just saw the Dublin side flashed up by TG4

Laura McGinley wearing 25 from Naomh Barrog is in at half-back for Sinead Goldrick
Sinéad Finnegan wearing 16 in for Oonagh White

Lauren Magee will probably play half-forward then

Is Sinead Finnegan really playing as a forward?

Agree thought it should have been a free out, she barged the girl to the ground and then fell over the same player, … Ref was probably too quick in signal the penalty, officials consulted and came to the correct decision in the end IMO.

Dubs mean business. Great start.

Our Girls look Faster, Fitter, Stronger, in opening 14 mins
1-05 to 0-00

Dublin 1-5 Mayo 0-1 Hardly a chance to catch your braeth

Sinéad Ahern is something else.

IN ladies football a stonewall penalty. Ball was in at the body and ripped way .

Didn’t see that ! She still barged at her opponent putting her on the floor while in possession of the football so by that reckoning she would have committed the first foul

Great double save by mayo keeper. Noelle Healy has pace to burn.

Now that was a stonewall peno

A very assured performance by the girls in blue in that opening half, seem to be able to run through mayo defence at ease, 2-10 to 1-05 at the break.

HT Dublin 2-10 Mayo 1-5

Dublin : Sinead Aherne 1-5 (1-0 pen, 0-2f), Laura McGinley 1-0, Olwen Carey 0-1, Nicole Owens 0-1, Niamh McEvoy 0-1, Lyndsey Davey 0-1, Noelle Healy 0-1

Mayo : Sarah Rowe 1-2 (1-0 pen), Fiona Doherty 0-1, Niamh Kelly 0-1, Grace Kelly 0-1

Dominant first half from Dublin. Lyndsey Davey involved creating both eventual goals. The first one she dinked a pass slightly wide but inside the goal square to Nicole Owens. Owens jersey clearly held trying to get a shot away and the penalty awarded which Sinead Aherne slotted home. Then a chance straight through on goal for Olwen Carey but she opted to take the point. Half goal chances as well for Davey and Owens eventually fired over the bar for a point.

Laura McGinley with a great goal chance saved by Rachel Kearns (who used to be mayo’s half-back)

McGinley made ammends a few minutes later finishing off a great team move with Aherne kick passing into the chest of Davey who fisted it over the top to McGinley who slid it cooly past Kearns.

Sinead Finnegan is playing in the backs. Martha Byrne is constantly bombing forward.

Ciara Trant made a great save on Sarah Rowe and their was a goal line clearance as well.

3rd goal for Dublin

Noelle Healy from Sinead Aherne

Also Jenny Dunne in 24 is on for Laura McGinley at HT
Carla Rowe in 29 on for Davey

Katie Murray in 23 on for Siobhan McGrath
