New GAA Club in Dublin 12?

This GAA Camp being run by Trinity College just popped into my timeline.

It’s been run in their newly acquired Iveagh Grounds where St James Gaels have been based for over 20 yrs. Anyone know why Trinity College would be running a camp like this? Joint venture with Gaels? New club? Part of Dublin GAA strategy? Purely commercial exercise? A GAA Officer in Trinity College trying to make good use of his time over the summer? Was thinking it was a corporate social responsibility exercise, but the fee is similar to Cúl Camps. If there’s plans for a new club the area that would be odd as it is already oversaturated with clubs struggling to field in D12. Crumlin merged with Robert Emmets at underage recently. Counsel merged with Liffey Gaels. Kevin’s operate in part of D12 and Templeogue Synge St have launched plans to expand into the area.

First heard of this. Definitely not a new club. St James Gaels had their summer camp a couple weeks ago. Agree D12 is struggling. Drimnagh/Walkinstown are aging areas. With Robert Emmets failing to field adult team should have been wake call to CB. All good volunteers in D12 clubs but simply cant compete with soccer.

There seems to be large areas of Walkinstown that does not produce GAA players. Drimnagh and Crumlin do ok.
