Interesting, not that it matters at this stage given everything else

I thought Egypt might open its border to take in refugees.

I get it doesn’t want to be seen facilitating Israel expelling them. But even to help the most in need on a temporary basis.

I read they’ve security concerns. But wonder are they more concerned with having the ‘burden’ of refugees? And it’s just handier to have them where they are.

Doubt they want the refugees and 30-40,000 hamas fighters with them.

Just googled a few news articles there.

There’s the not wanting to be seen to helping Israel.

But Egypt has something like 9 million refugees from Saharan Africa - and Sisi said they won’t take any more. Jordan has also said no to refugees.

I guess the West Bank refugees might have been there longer so have integrated more. Just guessing.

Being honest the French are coming out of this as country that really seems a melting pot the government seems really out of touch with their own people, ministers hanging out Benzema for asking for prayers for Palestinian casualities, same minister asking Benz to condemn the never seen images of beheaded babies. Their own courts overturning spur of the moment laws as regards symbols, protests etc, . They really need to sort out their own internal problems before trying to meddle in others

None of which has anything to do with their military intelligence findings. But anyways. Not a country that can be accused of towing the USA line.

The PLO nearly took over Jordan the last time the allowed a bunch of refugees in, the also caused trouble in Egypt and Lebanon. Hence the reluctance to open the borders.

Agree, my post was just a general comment on France in the issue, should not have been a reply to the video posted.

In reply to some of the posts on the world thread, Mayoman was wondering how a family got in, nobody is saying you cannot get in or out of Gaza, the problem is , who does and doesn't is not controlled by Gaza. It is possibly the only place in the world where need another countries permission to enter. The airport is closed due to Israeli bombings.

A lot of posters have been saying pretty much the exact same.

And raising the same points.
