Agreed. Up to a point. The push towards private health insurance defo does. Is there much private HI used in Continental Europe? I suppose the difference anyway in Ireland is they've created the conditions whereby PHI is a virtual essential necessity. And lots of Irish people head over to other countries to get stuff done.
We can create a good public system if we want to.
But the decisions that need to be taken to achieve that are politically unpalatable as they involve voluntary redundancies and job losses
Senior civil servants would have to be moved on also or given early retirement
