Vins beat Ravens handy on Wednesday. Crokes also unbeaten. Na Fianna four wins out of five. Castleknock had a rude awakening vs. Raheny. Brigids gave Boden a walkover. Both sides played Inter championship on Wednesday. I presume that’s the reason why although it’s hardly good enough.
Brigids had set out their programme after the board sent out email on 20th March telling them they would not be playing 2nd rd of champo week ending the 15th may . As we believed we had no games the senior team ware giving 2 weeks off , for holidays , lads doing exams etc . After 1st round . When we got fixture we asked and explained to Boden the story . They agreed to change game . Unfortunately there was wires crossed between the 2 clubs . Brigids believed we had arranged game for sat 7th may . We had informed ref , board about change . On the Friday 6th night before Boden rang up in a panic saying they just seen fixture on web and that they thought it was sat 14th game had be rearranged for . We tried to refix but everyday we tried either us or Boden had lads away . We couldn’t play wed 11th as we ware down 17 players tru hilidays , exams , county and injuries . We asked Boden could they play Friday the 20th . They agreed . When we informed board they told us we couldn’t play as it was 9 days from original fixture it had to be 7 days . We told them this wasn’t a fixture on original fixture list and could we play after a genuine mistake was made and seeing that both clubs agreed . Answer was again no . So we told board we wouldn’t be fufilling fixture
2 Games this week. We should see the league take some shape after Saturday. for some crack I fancy the below winners. Couple of clubs needs good results or it could be a long summer.

Am hearing Vincents beat Crokes…
Vins by three. Good game by all accounts.
Boden 3-12 Castleknock 0-17, cracking game of football.
Kilmacud Crokes 0-18 St Vincents 1-18
Very good game. Vins well on top in first half. Crokes very much improved in second half with a few goal chances.
Good crowd there as well.
Any of the Dublin players on show?
Maurs v Raheny
Raheny the better team in the first half, but 2 goals kept Maurs in it, and left us only a point behind at the break 2-2 to 0-9
Eoin Fletcher scored a screamer of a goal for Maurs early in the 2nd half, and Maurs were the better team after that, but missed a host of goal chances to put Raheny away. A late goal for Raheny put them ahead with about 5 mins left (just after they rattled the bar with a peno), but 3 late long range frees from Reddin won it for Maurs
Final score St Maurs 3-6 Raheny 1-11
By the way, Fenton was in attendance but did not play for Raheny. Too close to the Laois game
Who impressed most out there and were the regular faces on show?
Castleknock were excellent first half, Kilkenny and mccauley missing but think both teams at full strength after that. Player at a lightning pace, boden got the goals at the right time. Some very good displays for both teams, corner forward for castleknock very good, Sam malony in midfield played well for boden. Castleknock well oiled team, could easily of won it, will be thereabouts at the end of the season.
Crokes v Vincents was a superb game of football played at a frantic enough pace lot’s of quality on show.
Best for Vincents was Trainor centre forward and Varley showed flashes of what he can do well taken goal and looked lively.
Thought Vincents were good value for their win, although kavangh tried to pick a ball up 5 yards out from goal at the death when the simple tap in was on that would’ve brought it back to a point and all the momentum was with crokes at that stage.
These league games on a summers evening are better than 90% of the games you see in the inter county set up these days, 15 on 15 strenght pace and excellent score taking.
Really really good advertisement for the game. Nice setup in Silver park and pitch looked in great nick.
The tanned guy number 12 for crokes looks raw enough but is very strong and very fast looks like he has the makings of a good player.
Similary number 12 for Vincents Albert Martin I think played very well very strong looking guy also and great kick passer. Strenght in depth in vincents at the moment is quite scary when you look at who was standing on the line.
Such a pity that by the time these teams meet again in a senior championship game it’ll dark and most likely played on a heavy pitch in Parnell park the skills and athleticism of these guys isn’t displayed nearly as well on in winter on heavy pitches.
It’s not real championship football. Neither team would play like that with the stakes higher
I wouldn’t agree with that.
Vincents only ever play one way and usually rack up big scores see Na Fianna and Ballymun last year in the Championship scored 19 & 22 against them. Only team that held them was Boden. Very rare you see this team finish with less than 16/17 on the board
Crokes do keep it tight granted.
Syls beat Ballymun last night 2-16 to 3-10.
Good win for Syls what sort of team had the mun out
Lucan beat Jude’s by 3… 1-11 to 11. Good game played at very fast pace. Jude’s had majority possession but shot a lot of wides. Lucan lead 6-4 at h/t having played down hill and with breeze. Jude’s set up very well, limited Lucan to mainly frees while missing a lot themselves. Game decided first 10 minutes of second half when Lucan scored 1-3. Opened Jude’s up very easily. After that Jude’s took complete control but couldn’t score. Missed 2 goal chances and numerous point chances. Got it back to 2 with 5 left and then missed great chance. Lucan got point in last minute. Experience helped, Casey, Shocko, Gallagher drove Lucan to victory.
Great evenings entertainment.
Vincents well able to play sweepers galore like all the rest. It’s only against the bums on a consistent basis they rack up big scores.
