It’ll be a shame if it’s not run off before championship begins. Playing it over the last number of years in December totally devalues it. You get some sides in it who haven’t trained together in weeks and then the championship winners playing second string teams resting up for Leinster.
Problem with having it at the start of the year, if a clubs in relegation they’d probably prefer to have them for the game’s that would keep them up.
Guess the best solution is to decrease the league size from 16 to 12 and have a larger gap from when C’Ship starts so the leagues can be finished before C’Ship starts.
Could be good option. I’m sure once we’ve had the first year of the split season done, hopefully GAA will take learnings from it.
