Afl 2 2022

Predictions for first set of games.
Olafs vs Crokes 2 (depending on how crokes seniors get on on saturday but will go for Olafs on bassis that crokes seniors will be in all Ireland final.)

Boughal vs Scoil ( Boughal at home should dog out result also have appointed a good manager in mark byrne.)

Ravens vs Whitehall (Going for underdog here Ravens at home always a force also new look squad this year with key players back from injury and some good young talent coming through)

Barrog vs NAF 2. (Barrog should have fire power needed to get this result over line.)

St Annes vs Raheny ( Even without the 3 lads Raheny to win comfortably they will have to much )

Towers vs Plunkets ( Hope for a repeat of the classic championship game last year and hopefully a towers W)

Fingallions vs TSS ( Think TSS will put a statement down here finns struggling with a lot of dual players picking hurling TSS to win comfortably in lawless park.

Round towers C vs Syls ( Tough call put syls should have enough to get result.

Fins won’t be beaten comfortably at home beat the likes of syls and raheny at home in the league last year

I would say there will be some surprise results, lads will have holidays/trips away, etc. (Valentine’s weekend as well) and they got 3 weeks’ notice to the first game.

Plus lack of match fitness, I wouldn’t be surprised if all the home teams pulled out a win, particularly Ravens, Boughal, Annes, and Fingallians. Tough places to go at this time of year.

Annes 12 Raheny 13

Raheny fitness in 2nd half and ability to take scores got them over the line after Annes led 8-3 5 minutes into the 2nd half on a very heavy pitch after overnight rain

Crokes v Olafs was off due to unplayable pitch

Good away wins for Whitehall, Temploegue, and Raheny. Annes, Ravens, and Fingallians are hard places to go and play, especially in this weather. Even harder to get a result

Yeah, very good results, Towers will be very disappointed being beaten by Syls at home

Towers have been on a bit of a downward trend since they missed out on promotion in 2018. Narrowly avoided relegation at the end of 2019 and ended up back in the IFC for a year or two.

Tough games to call there. Crokes Scoil game down for Clontarf Road for some reason.

Id say a lot of games will be moved because of pitches

Wheather has been ok this week, no?

Damaged pitches from last weekend ??

Would think it’ll be a mixed bag for Council pitches this week, reckon most private pitches will be playable though

Nobody expecting Croke Park playing surfaces this time of year.

It’s SDCC and the other councils call so their bar might be different to a clubs hopefully all are on

Yeah, I know a good few pitches in outer Dublin that are still in a state from the first round of league fixtures. id imagine all private pitches will be playable though

Shocking Carry on in Bohernabreena with Both teams out warming up on back pitches from early the referee blew his whistle , got into his car & drove off at 1025. When stopped he claimed both side hadnt taken the field. Absolutely disgraceful attitude by a ref when both side were ready to play for tge 1030 start & 50+ amateurs had given up time to train and play.
