Rhasidat Adeleke ran a new Irish 400m record in Sacramento in the early hours of this morning, when she clocked a time of 49.54 to knock 0.36 her existing record …… she smashed it

Will be interesting to see how things develop. Her new record
- is 3rd quickest in the world this year so far
- would have won silver in last years world final
- and placed her 4th at the last Olympic final.
While she’s clearly a great prospect, she should be allowed to develop at her own pace, however I can’t see the Irish media giving her the time & space to do so. They just love the hype.
