Camogie 2023

The uplift potential in Dublin is massive

Absolutely huge potential. But Coaching across the board at club level is pretty terrible.

I’ve no insight at all on club camogie to agree or disagree on that topic

But do you still think it’s u16 Intercounty the primary fix is

I diisagree on the basis that if your not competing at 16 then the better girls will go elsewhere. Their are 3 girls sitting on the bench for dublin ladies football thatt would start on the semior camogie and another 1 who is now starting on the football team.all the way up their preferance was camogie but that changed when lgfa seemed better run.minors last werk got beat by 22pts by cork, when they were 16 they were bet 20 pts by cork(what was done in the meantime to close that gap?)last years 16s were best 34pts by tipp, what is being done now to close that gap at minor next year.

On a positive note the juniors won well today, on a negative note the seniors beaten by Galway

Great win for Dubs Inters v Limerick 4.12 to 4pts.

Clare beat Antrim yesterday by 4pts. Two tough games for us, both away.

Cant find a result for the senior game

@Neo

Just back from it.

Galway 1-14 to 0-09.

Bit like KK game - freetakers on top.

Waterford to me should he the current barometer of what’s achievable. Without any huge focus on u16 Intercounty

Have a brilliant player and free taker in carton, a goalscorer in Rockett and a midfielder in Bray. Also had an Intercounty hurling coaching at senior and minor level

I know nothing about Waterford and what their model is so cannot agree or disagree but I know they are in division 2 and not really looking like breaking into the top 4. Sometimes we beat them, sometimes they beat us. If that’s what you’d like to see for Dublin fair enough

Look at there championship performances last 3 years and revert …

Or I’ll save you and say they were in.top 4 last year.

Who was the inter county player?

Shiner ahern took plenty of minors through. They had Dan Shanahan as a coach. They had Derek Lyons as manager who managed to minor and u21 hurling. Sean Power now ex minor and u21 hurling all Ireland winning manager…

No idea who manages their u16s

Playing in 1 semi final is not breaking through into the top 4. Dublin did that in 2017. If Waterford do it again this year I will accept them as top 4,

It’s interesting the phrase you use about Shane Ahern, you are right there that their county board gave him the space to ‘bring’ players through. Our county board never gave any of our ex inter county players the same chance to develop players, teams, continuity etc. so I 100% agree with that point.

It was top 4 in 2022 though… Point remains ignore where fucking Kilkenny Galway and cork are especially single code KK and check out Tipp, Waterford who are contending to be the 4th team.

Ignoring KK, Cork and Galway won’t get us anywhere
