Dublin Senior 2 Football championship 2022

Score line didn’t reflect majority of match for vinnies & Mary’s.Vincent’s flew out the traps and knocked a good few ahead but Mary’s had it to 3 at HT and at one stage 2 points.Vincent’s got a peno with ten to go and a Mary’s lad was black carded for it.They knocked in 2 more after.Connolly sauntered around and You wouldn’t have known he played.Credit to Quinn for keeping himself in some shape.Who’s the shaved headed fella for Vincent’s at 14? Seems to have something

Two full Senior B reports from the weekend.

Naomh Olaf v Plunketts

Two goals from David Byrne playing at full forward and 1-6 from Eoin Foley propelled Naomh Olaf to an impressive home cahmpionship win in Senior 2 over St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh. Recent Dub u20 Luke Murphy-Guinane chipped in with 0-4 while for the visitors the experienced Ted Furman kicked 1-3 and Bernard Brogan came off the bench in the 2nd half with a 1-1 salvo. Sean Bugler played at half back and Conor Tyrrell listed at corner back added a point.

Naomh Mearnog v St Pat’s Donabate

St Pats Donabate first ever game at Senior level proved to be a memorable one as they nearly pulled off a win in Portmarnock only for hosts to pull out a draw at the end. Shane Carthy top scored for Mearnog with 1-5 (0-4) and Jamie Walsh added another 0-4 (0-3f). Sean Hawkshaw and Karl Lynch-Bissett are still in the US. They will certainly bolster Mearnog’s squad if they return before the end of the championship. Adam Dunne and Niall “Charlo” Collins got the goals for Donabate. Stephen Dempsey scored 0-5 (four from play) and Ollie Brooks and Kieran Conroy contributed 0-2 each.
