Favourite County Players (H)

Was gonna stick Ian Brick and Shane Conway for Kerry. Hard to know how well they’d fare at top table. Was in school with cousins of Bricks. Hardy lads.

Excellent shout on Adrian Fenlon and his ground hurling.

John Gardner of Cork was a lovely striker of the ball (sidelines, frees and ground strokes in general) but always felt that there was a narky, contankerous edge to his play.

Fully agree with you. They could do with his nark big time these days!

Did he play with Cuala at one stage? I have a vague recollection of some “controversial“ transfers from North Wicklow to Cuala in the 90s

Wicklow: Leighton Glynn

Not sure to be honest.

Some O’Neills from Wicklow did play with Cuala in SHC in mid nineties, not sure if they transferred. It ended up in the High Court.

Massively good call there Dub. I also forgot Liam Watson of Antrim.

Yes that’s the incident I was thinking off…

Nothing got past him.

Lar Corbett (Tipp) was my favourite player to watch over the past 15-years, a real free spirit. Anytime he got the sliotar you didn’t know what was going to happen. That 4-4 against Waterford in 2009 was the best of him for me.
