I see theyve a director of hurling down in Wexford now. If only we could do that…oh wait.

Hopefully it’s just the weekend weather that was in it , but in reading match reports from the senior games in Dublin to intermediate , there seems at a glance quite a few players scoring anything from 8 points from frees to nearly double that
That doesn’t even take into account they have missed a few ,either players can’t tackle or referees suffering from whistle fever

Thought the referees were a bit fussy last weekend, whereas previously I thought they’d let the games go a bit more, might just have been the few games I saw though.

Heard a stat during the week that Donal Burke averages 9.8 points a game the highest in history of GAA, second is Joe Canning on 9.3

Holy crap

While it’s an amazing stat, shows how overly reliant we are on him. We really were fooked when he went off v Clare, although that didn’t explain the defensive lapses.

I would think that a number of players were thinking like you Tayto and that we mentally switched off when Donal ( and our hopes of victory) departed injured.

You’d like to think they’d not be that brittle mentally but maybe subconsciously.

Really do not think that setup of backs was suited to playing Clare anyway, we had a setup geared towards KK and Galway.

No surprise there

I’m not sure if this is the correct thread. Bit confused by 2024 in the title.

“Hurling on the Green” (on the Mall in Castlebar) has been a fantastic success.

Camogie was big in parts of Mayo in the 1950s, especially around the Manulla, Belcarra, Balla area. My aunt was part of the panel that lost the 1959 All-Ireland Final to Dublin.

I see some brand new or relatively new hurling clubs established in Mayo in the last few years are fielding adult teams now. (Caiseal Gaels, Gaetacht Iorrais, Ballyvary)

This is grand. The ones below definitely aren’t.
