Got lost in that thread just there… I was going to save my Al type post for a pre All Ireland night rant, but I’m burned out now!
All day I’ve been hyped up to the gills about tomorrow’s game, however 2 posts today brought a laugh, smile and perspective to me, firstly the laugh from the post from Damothedub I literally cried laughing I showed Mrs MD who had same reaction and those who have parked outside the rotunda understand the pain of those parking meters. The second and more important post was from @LiamMac , if anyone has to ever experience even 1 hour in St Johns ward in Crumlin hospital they’ll will be aware how valuable Aoibheanns pink tie is, One of the most uniquely Irish things about us is that regardless of who wins tomorrow night the winning team will bring Sam back to Crumlin to try bring some happiness and joy into the lives of people who are literally going through hell.

That post itself is a contender for QOTW. Well said Mick. Might see you over the next few days. Up the Dubs!

@MickeyDonovan Gets my vote for QOTW. Cheers pal.
I love the tears, hugs smiles and the Jeysus never ending pints of the Sam Maguire celebrations. I think it may be time to start cutting back on the 3 day sessions though!
Whatever happens tomorrow. It’s our Dubs. It’s our team. We love them. Let’s hope they can complete the immortal task. Up the Dubs. Our Dubs.
Got to be this one from @Rochey for me!!!
From Proud Dub this beauty since I was given the quote I happily pass on the torch for this piece of sparkle
Kevin was also not handed an intact squad who won the All Ireland the year before he took over. Gavin was. Heffo literally is the alchemist who magic’d up gold dust from nothing & has been sprinkling it over us from above ever since.
Take a bow

Nominating this piece of historical quality!
'74 changed everything!!! Before that my family had to run the gauntlet of “muckas” and culchies because we played GAA… 300 at most at Dublin matches in Croke Pk. Then it happened!!! I was still gargled the next morning in school and was sent home…The follwing year there was a 40 seater bus from the family’s local going to a league match in Tralee and you could have filled it twice over. Folk who prior to 74 wouldn’t have had a notion about Gaelic games now decked out in all their colours… I was on the Dublin minor hurling team that year and I was on that bus and I was treated like a king because I played minor for Dublin and by Jaysus did I lap it up!!! What a changearound from not declaring to most that I played GAA prior to that… Wonderful years ensued, win lose, or draw… Most of those same people on that bus and other busses after who are still alive still follow the Dubs passionately today…

This is the best post I’ve read on here since… Well, Citeog’s last post! ^^^
Here we go again… where do I start… I’m finding it hard to understand you - honestly… first line…" A secret poll held in 1973? Jeez I must factor that in… Have you ever watched the elections in the North over the last 20 years… maybe my eyes and ears are failing me but did Unioists not lose their majority for the first time ever in the last election… I remember seeing all the front pages the following day declaring same… oh wait maybe I didn’t… Maybe this ould head of mine is seeing things lately… So if the evidence is there in an election the British Govt is legally bound to call a border poll on Irish Unity… I don’t remember seeing anything like that in Sunningdale… Jesus maybe it was, maybe it’s this head of mine again… I saw a poll done last month, not a secret one now, done by Lord Ashcroft that showed 51% in favour of unity… and the breakdown of all age groups showed only one (65 plus) that were not in favour… Oh jeez maybe I didn’t see that at all. I’M WORRIED NOW…How do you evidence a big or small turnout for a border poll that hasn’t happened yet…Or maybe it’s a secret I don’t know about… You say I haven’t read this and I haven’t read that… I made a number of bulleted points above about the differences between both. Can you please deal with them rather than generalities… If you believe that IRA were defeated that’s you’re prerogative… Well under your criteria, Wolfe Tone lost, Robert Emmet lost, Pearse and Connolly lost, Collins lost, The Irsh Govt lost… because all those set out to establish a 32 county republic… Why didn’t we just roll over and adapt the British culture… would have saved all this hassle
