Russia- Ukraine (Part 2)

Boris Johnson has been lying again

Agree with this, dont think you can negotiate unless Russia withdraws fully and they’re not going to do that.

Really feels like NATO is stepping up but still the reluctance to give weapons that can allow Ukraine to win this decisively.

Turkey’s potentially 8 HIMAR equivalents seems like a real have a go at them move to me. I think the Turks see themselves as sorts of advocates for the Tatars, and the Tatars seem to get on well with the Ukrainians. There is also money to be made, weapons to prove battleworthy, a show of doing their bit to NATO, and giving Russia a little bit of a bloody nose.

Switzerland and Japan providing aid to try and Winterproof Ukraine.

But Pinocchio’s father was Italian, and Johnson’s father is now French (showing confidence in Brexit with that move).

Hard to know what Erdogan is at. He’s still buddying up to Putin talking about building a major gas hub in Turkey for Russian gas whilst at same time giving the Ukrainians a supply of top end weapons. Not a fella I’d trust!

Erdogan is playing a blinder. Helping both, meditator to both, making money and looking like a proper states man. Making Turkey the no 1 power in that part of the region

Not sure how much he is helping Russia compared to giving weapons directly to Ukraine, but he is playing both sides well, he knows how to play Putin to a tee. Remember the time they shot down a Russian plane that flew into Turkish airspace? that’s the kind of language Putin understands.

Technically the Turks and the Greeks are allies. Unfortunately Greece probably needs to get themselves a lot of HIMARS with the longest distance missiles, and upgrade their airforce. Something which will drain resources from other areas.

Surprised to see Turkey openly supplying Ukraine … can never quite figure Erdogan out

A few nights out in Berlin on the ghoulash.

:us_outlying_islands:

The germans wanted to give the patriot missiles to Poland and the polish said give them to Ukraine, then the germans said to give them toa non-nato countries they’d have to ask NATo and then NATo say - nah - yer grand work away … so now the Germany having a cabinet meeting about it.

These are defensive tools, see no reason why this is an issue.
